Daily Reading Challenge

If you still haven't found the impetus to read then try today's creative challenge instead. Design a new book cover for your favourite book. No ideas? Do an image search on the internet by the book title and see what you find. Often the book jackets are different for each country the book is published in or for each new edition. You might find some inspiration this way. Try and be unique, choose YOUR favourite scene or character. If, like me, art is not your greatest skill then use a favourite quote from the book and use a fancy font.
The example below is one of my favourite quotes it is from a book by Thomas Mann: "Death in Venice and other stories". Below that is a quote from a Harry Potter book!

Welcome back!

In these difficult times I have brought back the Library Blog to provide information and inspiration whilst we are away from school. Never before has the quote below been more apt:

Good Bye and Good Luck

I would like to wish all students in S6 the very best of luck in the future. Thanks to those who helped out in the Library especially Erin and Ruth. I will miss all of those students who spent all their study periods in the Library. You were a great year group! No matter what you do in life remember:
"The only thing you absolutely have to know,
is the location of the Library."    Albert Einstein
Remember this one as you move on!

Roald Dahl Day

The world famous author Roald Dahl was born on the 13th September 1916 and thus every year the  13th of September is Roald Dahl Day. We will be celebrating in school on Monday 14th. Look out for Roald Dahl quotes around the school and other Roald Dahl activities.
Why not follow this advice and borrow a book from the Library?

More information available at the Roald Dahl  website or from the Roald Dahl Day blog
